With an investment of 550 million dollars in the first half of 2018, Yucatan will have three wind farms in operation that will generate more than 50 megawatts of clean energy to supply the Federal Electricity Commission, the center of the country and large corporations.

The Secretary of Economic Development of the State Government, Ernesto Herrera Novelo, explained that in this year the parks that will be located in Dzilam de Bravo, Progreso and Tizimín will be part of the clean energy supply market in the country.

In Yucatan, he recalled, there are nine wind farms authorized by the federal government, representing an investment of $ 850 million dollars, which are scheduled to start operations between this year and 2022.

In March 2018, the first wind farm will be in service, located in Dzilam de Bravo, in which 160 million dollars will be exercised, to produce 50 megawatts that will be used to serve the center and north of the Republic.

Also in this year the infrastructure works of the wind farms that will be located in the municipalities of Tizimín and Progreso will be completed, as the first components that will be assembled in the next five months have already begun to arrive, he noted.

Ernesto Herrera stressed that the Progreso wind farm will be installed in the San Ignacio police station, and it will allocate 250 million dollars, with a production capacity of 90 megawatts.

In the case of Tizimín Park, he specified that the investment will be 150 million dollars, resources of Spanish and German capital, and announced that before the end of January, the first components will arrive to the entity to begin construction of it.
